About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join EXNOVO in Perth. This is a full-time position based in Perth WA 6000. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of electrical systems and solutions that drive our business forward. You will be responsible for designing, analysing, and optimising electrical systems whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects that have a tangible impact on our operations and product offerings.

Key responsibilities

- Design and develop electrical MV / LV power systems and components using industry-standard CAD software and design tools

- Conduct electrical simulations, modelling, and analysis to validate designs and ensure optimal performance

- Prepare detailed technical drawings, schematics, and documentation for tendering, thru to manufacturing installation and comissioning.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales team, mechanical engineers, project managers, and technicians to ensure integrated solutions

- Review and approve electrical specifications and ensure compliance with relevant Australian and international standards

- Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical designs to identify and resolve issues

- Maintain detailed records of design changes, modifications, and project documentation

- Provide technical support during the implementation and commissioning of electrical systems





- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices in electrical engineering

What we're looking for

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification

- Professional experience in electrical design engineering

- Proficiency with electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar tools

- Strong knowledge of electrical principles, circuit theory, and power systems - load flow and fault analysis

- Experience with electrical simulation software such as Power Factory, SPICE, MATLAB, ETAP or equivalent

- Familiarity with relevant Australian electrical standards and international standards including IEC and AS/NZS

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously

- Preferred: Experience with renewable energy systems, power electronics, or industrial automation

- Preferred: Knowledge of control systems and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
