HandsOn is welcoming a cohort of new graduate occupational therapists and physiotherapists in early 2027. This program is for graduates who see hand therapy as their career, not one option on a list. We welcome graduates from both occupational therapy and physiotherapy backgrounds. What matters is that hand therapy is where you want to be.

About us

HandsOn was established in 2003 and is now Queensland’s largest independent hand therapy provider, with 13 clinics across South East Queensland and more on the way. Our hand therapy team takes pride in doing what they do best: improving outcomes, one hand at a time.

How we train you

Learning hand therapy properly takes time and investment, and we make that investment from your first day. Our structured 12-month training program includes:

- A dedicated supervisor, matched to you. You’ll work from your supervisor’s clinics.
- Regular supervision and support whenever you need it
- Training manuals, each finished with a quiz to lock in your learning
- Hands-on splinting practice
- A gradual introduction to conditions, with your caseload building at the same pace as your knowledge
- Starting together as a graduate cohort, so you’re never the only new face
- First Year Brekkie Club, a group breakfast bringing together everyone in their first year with us (it’s a bigger crowd than you’d think)
- Monthly in-house training and a $2000 yearly training allowance

With a staff retention rate above 95%, most of our team stay and build long-term careers with us.

Essential requirements

- Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy (final-year students completing in 2026 are welcome to apply)
- AHPRA registration, or eligibility for registration before your start date
- Driver’s licence and car
- Full working rights in Australia
- Availability to work full time

Start date and location

The cohort starts together in early 2027, once all graduates have received their first provider number. Clinic location across South East Queensland is based on your supervisor match.
