About the role
Halocell Energy is developing and manufacturing perovskite photovoltaics for a broad spectrum of applications. Leveraging material engineering and roll-to-roll processing, Halocell delivers a new generation of photovoltaics, empowering customers with scalable, efficient energy harvesting solutions that perform reliably across a wide range of lighting conditions. We are seeking a Materials Engineer with hands-on perovskite experience to join our team in Wagga Wagga, regional NSW.
Key responsibilities
- Formulate and optimise perovskite inks and related stack materials for coating and printing.
- Build and test devices from lab through to printed modules and support transfer onto the roll-to-roll line.
- Characterise films and devices and run stability work under light, heat and humidity for further optimisations.
- Support production on ink batching, shelf life, quality checks and incoming material qualification.
About you
- A PhD in perovskite photovoltaics, halide perovskite materials, or a closely related field.
- A strong background spanning perovskite chemistry, materials science,
materials engineering, processing and device physics.
- Prior experience with blade coating and/or slot-die coating, ideally in an industrial setting, using low-viscosity fluids in sheet-to-sheet or roll-to-roll mode.
- Hands-on lab experience, including safety in a wet-chemistry environment and safe use of hazardous materials.
- Willingness to relocate to Wagga Wagga, NSW, and Australian working rights.
- A proactive, cooperative mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
Benefits
- A hands-on role on products that are printed and shipped, not a pure research post.
- Scope across ink formulation, device stack and the roll-to-roll line, in a young, small and energetic team where your work has real impact.
- Exposure to outdoor and space applications, and to materials partners on electrodes, transport layers and precursors.
- Collaboration with industry and university partnerships.
- Opportunity to expand IP portfolio.
- Company share reward scheme.
