Cattlemans Country Motor Inn and Serviced Apartments is an established accommodation and dining venue in Dubbo, offering restaurant dining, breakfast service, conference facilities and private functions.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will help deliver consistently high-quality meals across restaurant and function services.

Major duties
Prepare, cook and present dishes according to menus, recipes and quality standards.
Organise daily food preparation for breakfast, à la carte dining and functions.
Assist with menu planning, seasonal specials and recipe development.
Estimate food requirements and assist with dish costing and ordering ingredients.
Inspect incoming deliveries and check the quality and freshness of produce.
Manage your kitchen section and coordinate with other staff during service.
Maintain consistent portion sizes, flavour and food presentation.
Monitor stock levels, ensure correct storage and stock rotation, and minimise waste.
Prepare meals for guests with dietary requirements and manage allergens carefully.
Monitor food temperatures and follow food safety and hygiene procedures.
Maintain clean kitchen work areas, utensils and equipment.




Assist with training junior kitchen staff and demonstrating cooking techniques.
Communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate orders and timely service.
Follow workplace safety procedures and report equipment faults or hazards.

About you
Relevant commercial cookery qualifications and demonstrated experience as a Chef.
Experience in a restaurant, hotel or similar kitchen.
Sound knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety and kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
Reliability, attention to detail and a passion for quality food.
Availability for rostered shifts, including breakfast, evenings and weekends.

Permanent full time role with a starting salary between $79K - $83K (plus super).
