About the role

The Practice Manager (Clinical) is a leadership position which performs dental assisting duties as required as well as supervise and train staff for the effective running of the practice. This role ensures junior staff are trained and participates in upgrading and maintaining training systems, organizes staff daily in terms of lunch breaks and which providers they are working with, orders and maintains stock levels, and performs basic problem solving of equipment.

Key responsibilities
Training of staff to perform chairside dental assisting with each provider
Recording of and reporting out training progress
Supervision of staff during the day to ensure providers have enough support and everyone takes lunch breaks at the correct time
Supervision of staff to ensure basic front desk tasks are executed accurately
Orders and maintains stock
Participates in interviews for recruitment and gives feedback
Participates in staff performance reviews and gives feedback
Creation and maintenance of dental assisting standard operating procedures

About you




Formal qualification as a dental assistant or equivalent or 4 years experience as dental assistant in specialist periodontal setting
At least 2 years' experience with specialist periodontal treatments such as dental implants and soft tissue grafting
2 years Experience with Oasis Practice Management Software
2 years Experience with Steri N Stock software
Proven work experience in a specialist periodontal practice setting that demonstrates 2 years of excellent communication skills with patients, staff and management
Proven work experience in a specialist periodontal practice setting that demonstrates 2 years Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to cater training to get the best out of staff and simplify systems to make training more straightforward
Ability to delegate tasks so that objectives are met
Ability to trouble shoot basic dental equipment. With Proven 2 years of work experience for Kavo Dental chairs, airflow machines and Mocom Autoclaves
Proven work experience in a specialist setting with creating work rosters
