Gen Z Trade Group is growing, and we’re looking for a reliable, practical Maintenance Technician / Handyman to join our team.

Based in Truganina, we work closely with real estate agencies across Melbourne to keep residential properties protected, functional and well maintained. If you enjoy solving problems, working independently and seeing the results of a job well done, we’d love to hear from you.

About the role

You’ll attend residential properties across Melbourne, completing general maintenance, repairs and Rental Minimum Standards checks. Your day-to-day work will include:
General property repairs, including doors, locks, handles, hinges, blinds and fixtures.
Minor carpentry, plaster patching, painting and other maintenance tasks.
Rental Minimum Standards checks, with training on our inspection and reporting processes.
Identifying defects, assessing repair requirements and preparing information for quotes.
Recording clear job notes, photos and materials used through ServiceM8.
Communicating with our office, renters and property managers throughout the day.
Identifying work that requires a licensed trade and referring it to our electrical or plumbing team.

What we’re looking for




Proven handyman or property maintenance experience across a variety of repair tasks.
Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to assess what’s needed on site.
Pride in neat, quality workmanship and leaving properties clean and tidy.
Confidence working independently and keeping jobs on track.
Friendly, professional communication and respect for people’s homes.
Confidence using a smartphone for job details, photos and reporting.
A current driver’s licence.

Experience working with real estate agencies, rental properties or ServiceM8 will be highly regarded, but isn’t essential.
