Summary:

Radiology Technicians operate X-ray and other diagnostic imaging equipment to create images of the internal structures of the human body. They maintain a high degree of accuracy while using radiation safely to produce high-quality images. They also interact with patients to explain the procedure, prepare the patient for the exam, and make sure the patient is comfortable.

Responsibilities:
Operate X-ray and other diagnostic imaging equipment to create images of the internal structures of the human body
Maintain a high degree of accuracy while using radiation safely to produce high-quality images
Interact with patients to explain the procedure, prepare the patient for the exam, and make sure the patient is comfortable
Perform basic patient care tasks,



such as taking vital signs and light housekeeping duties
Ensure quality assurance, equipment maintenance, image processing, and record keeping

Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in radiologic technology or a related field
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
State licensure or certification, if required
Knowledge of radiation safety and protection
Robust communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a rapid-paced workplace and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Attention to detail and accuracy
