Station Hand

Reporting to the Station Manager you will undertake station operations and duties as directed. This will be a busy position and requires a can-do attitude.

Description

Tasks vary but include the following:
Handle and work with livestock in a calm and effective manner.
Monitor animal health and report any concerns.
Feeding livestock
Muster and move livestock.
Clean and perform (minor) service of water troughs.
Conduct visual checks on bores, troughs, pipelines, fences etc and perform minor repairs.
Conduct basic repair and general maintenance of plant and equipment.
Perform daily routine checks, adjustments, and maintenance of station vehicles.
Manage and maintain all fences for the control of livestock.
Construct fence lines.
Repair cattle yards.
Transport, handle and store chemicals applicable to primary work area.




Perform basic motorcycle tasks (hold or prepare to hold motorcycle license)
Undertake other duties as directed.
