About the role

You'll work across a broad range of vehicles and equipment as an experienced 4WD / Diesel Mechanic. This is a senior position requiring the ability to diagnose faults, take ownership of jobs and complete work to a high standard without needing constant supervision. The work is varied and often involves genuine fault finding and problem solving, with the opportunity to progress into a Leading Hand / Workshop Supervisor role as the business grows.

Key responsibilities
Diagnose faults across a broad range of vehicles and equipment including Toyota LandCruisers and other 4WDs, diesel and light commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles, trucks and light plant
Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance
Conduct diagnostic fault finding
Complete engine and cooling system repairs
Perform driveline and transmission repairs
Conduct brake and suspension repairs
Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding
Identify and rectify defects
Conduct vehicle inspections
Complete general mechanical repairs
Take jobs from diagnosis through to completion

About you
Recognised automotive or diesel mechanical trade qualification
Solid practical experience




Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability
Experience with diesel vehicles and/or 4WDs
Ability to work independently
High standard of workmanship
Good attention to detail
Current Australian driver's licence
Good communication skills
Reliable and professional attitude

Perks
$48–$55 per hour + Super, depending on experience
Higher rate considered for an exceptional senior technician
