WHO WE ARE

State of Play is a boutique interior architecture studio working across hospitality and commercial projects around Australia. We're a small team that cares about good design, well-resolved details, and delivering what we draw. No egos, no fluff — just solid work and a team-oriented studio environment.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a mid-level Interior Architect who's strong on documentation and genuinely knows their way around Revit.

This isn't a concepts-only role. You'll be in the guts of projects — taking ideas and turning them into explicit, buildable drawing sets. You'll be trusted to run documentation, coordinate with others, and keep things moving without needing your hand held.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Producing detailed documentation packages in Revit
Turning design concepts into accurate, build-ready drawings
Coordinating with consultants, suppliers, and builders
Supporting projects from design development through to delivery
Keeping drawings clean, organised, and on point

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

3–6+ years' experience in interior design or interior architecture
Strong Revit skills — this is non-negotiable
Solid understanding of construction detailing and documentation
Hospitality or Retail experience is a bonus, not a dealbreaker
Comfortable in a small studio where everyone pulls their weight
Able to work independently, problem-solve, and take ownership
Organised, detail-focused, and a explicit communicator
Must have Australian work rights to be eligible for this position

WHY STATE OF PLAY
Tight-knit studio — your work actually matters
Good mix of hospitality and commercial projects
Real responsibility and autonomy (no being stuck redlining forever)
Down-to-earth team, no corporate layers

KEEN?

Send us your CV and portfolio (PDF or link). Keep it sharp — we're more interested in how you think and document than a long cover letter.
