Caboolture
Boilermaker / Fabricator – MIG & TIG (Steel & Aluminium)
About us
Offroad Grit RV is a Caboolture-based manufacturer building tough, custom off-road caravans designed for real Australian conditions. Every van is built in-house, and we take pride in quality work that goes the distance. We’re growing, and we need a skilled boilermaker to help run our fabrication shed.
The role
You’ll be the go-to tradesperson in our fab shed, building chassis, frames and components for our van builds. You’ll also be working alongside and guiding our apprentice, so you’ll need to lead by example, pass on positive habits and keep the work moving.
What you’ll be doing
MIG and TIG welding in both steel and aluminium
Fabricating chassis, frames, brackets and custom components
Reading and working from engineering drawings and plans
Measuring, cutting, fitting and finishing to a high standard
Supervising, teaching and supporting an apprentice day to day
Planning your own workload and keeping the shed organised and safe
What we’re looking for
Trade qualified: Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker) or equivalent (required, as you’ll be supervising an apprentice)
Proven MIG and TIG skills on steel and aluminium
Able to read and interpret technical drawings
Self-motivated, organised and able to work without being micromanaged
Takes pride in quality workmanship and attention to detail
Patient and willing to train the next generation
Experience in caravan, trailer, RV or automotive fabrication is a bonus, but not essential
What’s in it for you
4-day working week, Monday to Thursday, with every Friday off
Diverse, hands-on work. No two builds are the same
The chance to shape how our fab shed runs and to build a solid team
A down-to-earth, family-owned business where your work is noticed
