About the role

MacKillop Catholic College is seeking a welcoming, organised and qualified School Officer – Visitors Receptionist to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.

The School Officer – Visitors Receptionist is generally the first point of contact for the general College Community and visitors, either in person or via phone and email. They are to provide a welcoming environment to guests and members of the College, while also providing secretarial support to the College (including record-keeping, College's database and filing).

Key responsibilities
Welcoming parents, guests and other visitors to the College
First respondent to communication to college (phone and email) and responsible for checking messages
Assisting with First Aid
Liaising with staff and teachers regarding information and messages
Managing the visitors sign-in book, ensuring that they have required documentation (Ochre Cards), are informed and aware of WHS and handing out badges accordingly




Managing the staff sign-in book (updating & printing)
Receipting of payments to the College
Make PA announcements and manage bell times as the need arises
Photocopy/scan requests
Maintaining and updating family records on the school's databases
Provide secretarial assistance for Senior Management and Middle management when requested

About you
A willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the College
Excellent Secretarial and administration skills
Proven ability to facilitate and maintain a welcoming workplace to members of the College Community and guests
Excellent IT Skills in use of Microsoft Office products
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Respect of Aboriginal culture
Hold a valid Ochre Card
Hold a valid First Aid certificate
Desirable: Experience working in an Education Workplace
Desirable: Experience in using School's CES and SEQTA
