Through Chandler Macleod's partnership with Rio Tinto, we are seeking experienced Data Analysts to support several business-critical transformation initiatives across Iron Ore operations.
Working within a team-oriented Improvement & Technology environment, you will help drive better asset management outcomes through data-driven insights and analytics.
The role will focus on analysing operational and maintenance data, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting initiatives that improve equipment reliability, reduce waste, and optimise maintenance performance.
This position would suit someone with experience working with asset management, maintenance, reliability, mining, resources, manufacturing, or heavy industry datasets who enjoys turning complex information into actionable business insights.
Reporting to the Principal Asset, Data & Systems and working closely with operational stakeholders, you will: Analyse asset management and maintenance datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and performance improvementsDevelop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutionsExtract, transform,



and analyse data using SQLWork with SAP asset management and maintenance data to support business decision-makingSupport initiatives focused on reducing tool time for fixed plant and mobile equipment maintenance activitiesAnalyse inventory and spare parts data to identify wastage reduction opportunitiesProvide insights to improve asset health, equipment reliability, and maintenance effectivenessCollaborate with operational, maintenance, and asset management stakeholders to understand business requirementsSupport the delivery of transformation and continuous improvement projects across Iron Ore operationsEnsure data quality, governance, and reporting standards are maintainedAbout YouExperience working with asset management, maintenance, reliability, operational, or business performance dataAdvanced Power BI reporting and dashboard development skillsStrong SQL querying and data analysis experienceExperience working with SAP data, ideally within asset management or maintenance environmentsKnowledge of database structures and data management principlesAbility to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong problem-solving and analytical thinking skillsExperience within mining, resources, heavy industry, utilities, manufacturing, or similar operational environmentsHighly RegardedExposure to Databricks environmentsExperience with Python, R, or other programming languagesUnderstanding of maintenance, reliability, and asset management principlesPrevious involvement in business transformation or continuous improvement initiativesWhy Join Chandler Macleod?
