With residential aged care homes located in Lakemba, Kogarah, Miranda and Randwick, we offer rewarding opportunities to make a genuine difference through the delivery of nutritious meals and exceptional hospitality services.We are currently seeking Catering Assistants to support our kitchen and catering teams across our residential aged care homes.About the RoleAs a Catering Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the health, wellbeing and dining experience of our residents through the preparation, presentation and service of nutritious meals.Working collaboratively with the Cook, General Manager and wider care team, you will assist with meal preparation, food service, kitchen cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards.
You will help create a welcoming dining environment that promotes residents' comfort, dignity and enjoyment while ensuring all food safety and infection control requirements are met.Our employees are employed under the St Basil's NSW/ACT Enterprise Agreement ****, with Catering Assistants generally classified as Catering Services Level 3, earning up to $***** base per hour.
About YouYou are passionate about supporting older people and understand the important role that quality food and hospitality services play in residents' wellbeing and quality of life.To be successful in this role, you will have:Demonstrated experience in food preparation and catering services, ideally within aged care, healthcare or a large-scale catering environmentUnderstanding of infection control,



food safety and cleaning standardsKnowledge of manual handling practices and general equipment maintenanceStrong verbal communication and customer service skillsAbility to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff and visitorsDemonstrated problem-solving and prioritisation skillsAbility to work collaboratively within a team environment while also working independentlyA compassionate and respectful approach when interacting with older peopleAustralian work rightsNDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)Why Join St Basil's?
