Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive Catholic learning community located in Woodroffe, Palmerston, in the Northern Territory. Catering for around 220 students from the Early Learning Centre through to Year 6, the school offers a close-knit, family-like atmosphere. The Position:
The Deputy Principal is a senior leadership position within a Catholic school. The role requires a person of faith and vision for Catholic education who models Catholic values and is able to communicate this vision clearly within the school community.
Working closely with the Principal, the Deputy Principal provides leadership to ensure the effective operation of all aspects of school life, supporting curriculum implementation, staff development, pastoral care and positive community relationships.

As Deputy Principal, you will;
Provide faith-based leadership that ensures Catholic values are embedded in all aspects of school life.
Support teaching and learning across the Primary years, ensuring high standards of pedagogy and student outcomes.
Support the Principal in driving school improvement, innovation, and cultural engagement.
Build strong partnerships with families, staff,



and the wider community.
Oversee pastoral care and wellbeing initiatives for students and staff.
Manage resources and operations in line with CENT policies and frameworks.

Essential criteria:
We are looking for a Deputy Principal who:
Is committed to Catholic education and is a member of a Eucharistic community.
Has strong Catholic leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to embed faith and values across school life.
Holds postgraduate qualifications (or is undertaking studies) in Religious Education, Theology, or Educational Leadership.
Is an experienced school leader with proven capacity to drive teaching, learning, and school improvement.
Demonstrates strong pastoral care and staff development skills.
Communicates effectively and has high-level organisational and administrative ability.
Is eligible for NT teacher registration and holds (or can obtain) a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).

This position will involve working with children. The appointment of the successful applicant will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with legislation.
