Lead Mechanical / Piping Designer
An established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical / Piping Designer to join its Perth-based team.
Working across a major minerals processing project, you will lead design and drafting activities from early concept development through to detailed design and construction-ready deliverables.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams while mentoring and supporting designers across the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
Lead and manage mechanical and piping design activities across the project
Develop and review plant layouts, piping arrangements and equipment models
Coordinate with process, electrical, structural and project engineering teams
Review drawings, 3D models and design deliverables to ensure quality and constructability
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to designers and drafting personnel
Support engineering teams through all project phases from concept design to detailed delivery
About you
Certificate, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering Design or a related discipline is desirable
Proven experience delivering mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial projects




Previous experience leading design teams and coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a project environment
Australian work rights
