HKA is recruiting a Commercial and Contract Lead for its Advisory team in Australia, based in Sydney and Brisbane on a hybrid basis.
The advert describes both a leadership appointment and a delivery one: building and developing a team while staying involved in day to day project work.
The responsibilities listed are leading the delivery of commercial and contract management engagements, giving strategic commercial guidance to clients across infrastructure portfolios, programmes and projects, and overseeing commercial assessments, contract negotiations and contract administration, including the management of claims, disputes and variations.
Reviewing commercial submissions and upstream and downstream contracts to identify risk and put mitigation in place is part of it,

as is managing commercial and contract activity across the whole project lifecycle against the contractual and governance requirements.
Business development sits alongside the technical work, with client origination, pipeline growth, mentoring and practice development all named.
HKA asks for ten or more years in commercial and contract management with post-contract delivery experience covering upstream and downstream risk, and says experience of front end tendering and early project phases is desirable.
It looks for a background in qualified services, tier one contracting or major infrastructure, across the utilities, transport, energy or renewable energy sectors.
No salary and no closing date are published.
