Eden Ritchie Recruitment is seeking a Financial Accountant to join a private equity-backed Australian data centre business at an important stage of operational establishment, transformation and growth.

The business operates five established data centres across four Australian capital cities and is building its standalone operating platform following the acquisition of a significant portfolio of infrastructure assets. Led by an experienced executive team, the organisation offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of its finance function within a growing infrastructure sector.
The opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this newly created position will take ownership of day-to-day financial accounting, ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and delivered within internal reporting deadlines.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced accountant who is comfortable working across the full general ledger in a mid-sized commercial environment in a small Finance team. Alongside delivering core accounting functions, you will help strengthen financial controls, policies, processes and reporting practices to support the organisation’s next stage of development.
You will work closely with an approachable, supportive and hands-on manager, providing practical accounting support and building effective relationships across the business. This role is office based 5 days per week in Brisbane CBD with flexibility provided as required.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the general ledger,



reconciliations, payroll accounting, journals and month-end close.
- Undertake capital and fixed asset accounting.
- Support management reporting, statutory financial statements, audits and compliance requirements.
- Strengthen financial controls, policies and procedures, identifying opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
- Provide practical accounting advice and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business and CA, CPA or equivalent professional membership.
- At least five years’ hands-on financial accounting experience, preferably within a mid-sized corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger management, month-end processes and financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced Excel and strong financial systems competency and sound analytical capability.
- Clear communication skills and an approachable, collaborative working style.

Experience in a mid-sized corporate setting is preferred, with particular emphasis on practical experience across the full accounting cycle. Industry-specific experience is not essential.

Experience preparing statutory financial statements, supporting external audits and compliance requirements, and using NetSuite or a comparable ERP system will be highly regarded. Familiarity with Xero would also be beneficial.
