Love the environment? Turn that into a career in water tech sales.

Our client is a fast-growing Melbourne water technology business. Their monitoring system measures water quality for utilities, councils, wastewater operators, aquaculture, mining and research institutions across Australia.

They’re after an early-career person with a real passion for water and the environment who wants to build a commercial career. You’ll support the team across marketing, events and the sales pipeline. There’s no revenue target in year one, so you can focus on learning the product and the market first.

What you’ll be doing

- Creating marketing collateral like flyers and decks, and helping run the website, LinkedIn and other social channels
- Managing inbound enquiries from the website and shared inbox, then logging and qualifying leads in Salesforce
- Making sure every lead, including those from conferences, is logged and followed up quickly
- Preparing proposals, quotes and follow-up materials, and keeping the pipeline moving
- Putting together materials that explain the lease and purchase options to prospects
- Researching recent prospects and booking meetings and demos for the Business Development Manager
- Working the stand at industry events like OzWater and WIOA, and helping organise their event presence
- Learning the technology and product range well enough to handle first-level enquiries
- Helping with sales reporting, sector campaigns, and conference papers and posters

Who will you be working with?

You’ll join a tight commercial team of three in the Richmond office,

working alongside the team every day. You’ll get direct exposure to the CEO, COO and the technical and engineering teams, as well as customers and industry bodies across the water sector.

What’s on offer

- Employee share options, granted each year with your performance review
- Full training on the technology and the water sector
- A small, fast-growing business where your ideas get heard
- Interstate travel for industry events, less than once a month and usually 2 to 3 days at a time

What you’ll bring

- A strong interest in the environmental or water sector. A background in environmental science, environmental engineering or water science is a big plus, but not a must-have
- Marketing experience or study, especially creating content, decks and social media posts
- An interest in Sales - Sales experience from any industry is welcome, and retail or hospitality counts
- A degree in business, marketing, commerce, or environmental or water science is highly regarded, but not essential
- Curiosity and initiative. You read industry news and bring ideas to the team without being asked
- A quick learner who’s keen to understand the technology and why customers want it
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organised and detail-focused, with CRM experience a plus
- Experience at events or trade shows, or happy to give it a crack
- Comfortable wearing a few hats in a small team
- Recent graduates are welcome
