Staff Specialist – Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS)

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking a dedicated Staff Specialist to join our clinical teams across Wodonga and Wangaratta. As a valued member of the Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS), you will provide clinical leadership, direction, and support to our multidisciplinary team while ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

- Clinical Leadership: Provide expert supervision, direction, and support to the multidisciplinary ICYMHS team.
- Patient Care: Facilitate effective continuity of care by promoting best practices in admission, discharge, and case management.
- Education and Training:
- Participate in and contribute to clinical teaching programs.
- Provide specialist support and supervision to fellows, registrars, and Junior Medical Officers (JMOs).
- Deliver teaching sessions to medical students from the University of Melbourne.
- Provide teaching to students from other disciplines and institutions as negotiated.

- Service Support: Offer clinical support to the broader service team as required.





Mandatory Requirements

- Registration: Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Clinical Experience: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing direct clinical care for adults and youth accessing both community and acute inpatient mental health services.
- Supervision: Proven experience in providing clinical supervision for other health professionals.
- Industry Knowledge: A thorough understanding of contemporary clinical mental health service provision in Australia.
- Legislative Proficiency: Demonstrated understanding of, and the ability to apply, the Mental Health Act 2022.
- Accreditation: Accredited in Victoria to perform Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), or a demonstrated willingness to achieve this accreditation.
- Flexibility: Willingness to participate in a shared weekday and weekend on-call roster.
