About the roles

Location: Sydney OR Canberra preferred

We are seeking experienced Linux and Infrastructure Monitoring Specialists to support the development, implementation and ongoing operation of complex ICT environments within a major Federal Government program. These opportunities involve working across Linux infrastructure, system monitoring, automation, security and integration technologies to support the delivery of secure, reliable and high-performing ICT systems.

You do not need experience across every technology listed. We welcome applications from specialists with strong capabilities in either Linux infrastructure or monitoring and observability technologies.

Key responsibilities

- Linux administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

- Linux server configuration, maintenance and security hardening

- Virtualisation, hyper-converged infrastructure and distributed systems

- Automation and configuration management using Ansible, GitLab or scripting technologies

- Infrastructure and application monitoring, logging and alerting

- Data ingestion,



log aggregation and monitoring integrations

- Dashboard development, system performance analysis and troubleshooting

- Cybersecurity controls, system hardening and secure infrastructure practices

- Technical documentation, communication and stakeholder engagement

About you

- Experience in Linux systems administration, infrastructure engineering, monitoring and observability, or automation

- Expertise in Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana and Beats)

- Knowledge of monitoring protocols and technologies including Syslog, SNMP and APIs

- Familiarity with the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)

- Experience working within complex, secure ICT environments

- Strong technical documentation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Essential Requirements

- Demonstrated technical experience in Linux infrastructure and/or monitoring technologies.

- Previous experience working within Federval Government ICT environments.

- Current AGSVA security clearance

- Ability to work collaboratively within a complex technical environment.

- Availability to work in Canberra or Sydney, with on-site requirements.
