About the Role

This is a permanent position offering flexible roster options, including 7/7, Monday to Friday, a 9-day fortnight or a 4-day week. You will support customers across a mix of civil, agriculture and mining sites, with a vehicle, Field Service Allowance and Area Allowance provided. This role would suit someone who lives in Emerald or the surrounding area.

As a Field Service Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will:

- Complete all repairs and maintenance in a safe and timely manner.
- Plan and organise daily service requirements.
- Maintain and complete all paperwork associated with job completion.
- Ensure the quality of your work is of the highest standards at all times.
- Monitor workflows and time to maximise efficiency and productivity.

About You
A successful teammate will have:

- Trade qualifications - Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent diesel fitter trade.
- Caterpillar product knowledge - experience working on CAT machinery, systems and diagnostic tooling.
- Strong troubleshooting skills - ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults independently.
- Customer-focused mindset - confident in building relationships, managing expectations and providing clear updates.
- Safety-first approach - committed to maintaining high WHS standards at all times.
- Valid driver's licence - required to travel between customer sites across the region.
- Site vaccination requirements - Current Q Fever and hepatitis A and B vaccinations, or willingness to obtain them, are required to work across agriculture and waste transfer sites.
