Cleansing Services Officer – Waste

Location: Rydalmere, NSW

CK Recruitment is seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleansing Services Officer to join a local council team in Parramatta.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in maintaining clean public spaces, and wants to make a positive contribution to the local community.

About the Role

Tuesday to Friday 07:30 - 16:00. 30 minute break

Saturday 07:30 - 12:00. 30 minute break

Working as part of the Waste and Cleansing team, you will help maintain the cleanliness, presentation and safety of public areas throughout the Parramatta local government area.

Your duties will include:

- Balancing self-management and working as a team to operate Council’s Community Recycling Centre.

- Ensuring the facility is maintained and clean, directing of customers to enable the unloading and sorting of acceptable waste streams.

- Directing and assisting with the unloading and sorting of acceptable waste stream received at the facility

- Carrying out general cleansing and maintenance of public areas.

- Inspecting public spaces and council assets to identify issues and potential hazards.

- Completing scheduled work programs efficiently and to the required standards.

- Using equipment, tools and materials appropriately and minimising waste.





- Completing basic administrative tasks and job records.

- Following workplace health and safety procedures.

- Assisting other operational teams when required, including during wet weather or emergencies.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A current NSW driver's licence (Class C minimum; MR licence highly regarded).

- Previous experience in a similar outdoor, maintenance, cleaning or operational role.

- The physical fitness required to undertake hands-on outdoor work.

- A current White Card.

- Current Traffic Control qualifications (TCR and IMP), or a willingness and ability to obtain them before employment is confirmed.

- Chemical Use AQF3 qualification, or a willingness and ability to obtain it before employment is confirmed.

- A strong work ethic, a safety-first attitude and the ability to work independently.
