Your Role

As an Environmental Services Assistant, you’ll play an important role in creating a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and under the guidance of the Manager/Supervisor, you’ll contribute to delivering high-quality cleaning and environmental services while providing valuable support to the Housekeeping team.

Availability to work AM and PM shift rosters will be required for all casual staff.

The Position

- Assist in the cleaning of Hospital public areas and tenancies, and other designated clinical and non-clinical areas in accordance with Duty Statements and Hospital cleaning protocols and procedures.
- Assist in the removal of soiled linen and rubbish from designated areas in accordance with Duty Statements and Hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist in the provision of other additional services provided by housekeeping under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisors, Managers or Duty Nurse Manager.
- Support the delivery of safe patient care and the consumers’ experience,



including participation in continuous quality improvement activities in accordance with the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other recognised health standards.
- Participate as a valued team member, promoting and contributing to a supportive team environment.
- Support the delivery of protected patient care and the consumers’ experience including participation in continuous quality improvement activities in accordance with the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and other recognised health standards.
- Promote a positive safety culture within your area by demonstrating a positive commitment to OHS.

- Hourly rate: $39.83 to $41.26 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
