About the role

We are seeking a 2IC of Daylesford Store to join the Creswick Woollen Mills team in a part-time capacity. Based in Daylesford, VIC 3460, this role offers a flexible working arrangement that suits candidates seeking part-time employment.

As 2IC (Second in Charge), you will play a crucial leadership role in supporting the Store Manager and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our Daylesford retail location. This position is essential to maintaining the high standards of service and retail excellence that our customers expect from Creswick Woollen Mills.

Key responsibilities

- Supporting the Store Manager in the overall management and daily operations of the Daylesford store
- Overseeing customer service standards and ensuring a welcoming, professional shopping experience for all visitors
- Managing stock levels, inventory control and merchandise displays to maximise sales and product visibility
- Training, supervising and motivating store staff to deliver exceptional customer service
- Handling cash management, point-of-sale operations and financial reconciliation
- Opening and closing the store as required, ensuring security and compliance with company procedures
- Addressing customer queries and complaints professionally and resolving issues to ensure customer satisfaction




- Maintaining store cleanliness, visual merchandising standards
- Assisting with promotional activities and stock replenishment as needed

What we're looking for:

- Proven retail management experience, ideally in a supervisory or second-in-charge capacity
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional experiences
- Knowledge of retail operations, including stock management, point-of-sale systems and visual merchandising
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Experience with selling either apparel or home textiles a must
- A genuine interest in textiles, heritage retail, or the Creswick Woollen Mills brand is advantageous
