Details: Are you an experienced finance professional looking for an opportunity to combine technical expertise, leadership, and meaningful public sector work? The Health and Community Services Directorate (HCSD) seeks several talented Assistant Directors in Management Accounting and Financial Accounting to join our Finance Team.

At HCSD, the work you do matters. Our Directorate supports health, housing, family and community services, multicultural affairs, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement, and community wellbeing initiatives across the ACT.

The Management Accounting roles provide budget development and coordination, forecasting and financial performance reporting, financial modelling and analysis, business partnering and strategic financial advice. The Financial Accounting roles provide annual financial statements preparation, technical accounting advice, financial reporting and compliance, accounting standards interpretation and application, and system improvements.

You will bring strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and practical way, experience preparing financial reports, budgets, forecasts or financial statements, strong relationship management skills, a commitment to learning and contemporary financial system experience (we use Oracle, TM1 and Power BI).

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

- Tertiary qualifications in an accounting/finance discipline and relevant experience in an accounting field is essential
- CAANZ or CPA Australia membership or substantial completion of required coursework is highly desirable

Note: These are temporary positions available immediately for a period of 11 months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
