Business Development Manager – Architecture, Design & Retail

Melbourne | Hawthorn Showroom | Full time

ABOUT BACHLI

BACHLI Furniture brings some of the world’s most respected furniture, lighting and accessories brands to Australia. Our portfolio includes MDF Italia, Saba Italia, Passoni, tossB, Nodi Rugs, Bloc Studios, and Melbourne’s own Lowe Furniture. We work with architects, interior designers and retail clients across the country.

Since launching in 2022, we’ve grown quickly. Our Hawthorn showroom is our home base, and in February 2026 we opened a second showroom in Sydney. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for talented people who share our passion for design, relationships and building something special.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to own and grow part of the Victorian market. You’ll report to [the Managing Director]. You’ll have the Hawthorn showroom behind you, and the territory is yours to build, with clear targets and the autonomy to decide how to hit them.

This is an opportunity to help shape a growing business, drive new opportunities and make a real impact. The role also includes working every second Saturday in our Hawthorn showroom.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Take ownership of the Victorian territory across architecture, interior design and retail, driving sales growth and expanding BACHLI’s market presence.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with architects, interior designers, specifiers and retail partners.
- Proactively reach out to new and existing clients through targeted calls, emails,

showroom visits and industry networking to generate new business opportunities.
- Identify and develop project opportunities from initial specification through to quotation, order and delivery.
- Present and educate clients on our brands, products and design capabilities, providing tailored solutions for their projects.
- Manage key accounts, generate new business and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Prepare quotations and proposals, deliver product presentations, and maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and sales reporting.
- Work closely with marketing, product and operations teams to support business objectives and deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Support the Hawthorn showroom, including working every second Saturday as part of the showroom roster.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- At least five years’ experience in an outbound sales or business development role, ideally with a proven track record of winning new business and growing accounts.
- An established network within Melbourne’s architecture, interior design and/or design retail community.
- A passion for building genuine relationships and helping clients achieve their project and business objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,

with the confidence to present to architects, interior designers and other design professionals.
- A commercially minded approach, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets. Strong organisational skills, initiative and the motivation to manage your own territory and priorities.
- An appreciation for furniture, interiors, architecture and considered design.
- Experience in the furniture industry is highly regarded but not essential.
- A collaborative, positive and proactive attitude, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a close-knit team.
- Flexibility to work every second Saturday in our Hawthorn showroom.
- A current, full driver’s licence.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Competitive remuneration and an attractive commission structure that rewards performance.
- The prospect to represent an exciting portfolio of sought-after international and Australian design brands.
- Autonomy and ownership, with the opportunity to shape and grow your own territory.
- Ongoing product training, professional development and opportunities to grow with the business.
- A supportive, collaborative and design-focused team environment.
- A fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture where initiative is valued, and great work is recognised.
- The opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to an ambitious and growing Australian business.

HOW TO APPLY To apply, send your CV and a short cover letter telling us a little about yourself and why you’d be a great fit for BACHLI to Nathan Bachli at [email protected].
