Role Description The Civil Designer Engineer will work full time on-site at Development Objective’s office in Gold Coast, QLD. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing civil design drawings and documentation for residential and subdivision projects, coordinating with project managers, engineers, surveyors, and soil testers, and ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and local council requirements. The role involves carrying out site assessments, reviewing survey and geotechnical data, and developing efficient solutions for roads, drainage, earthworks, and service layouts.

The Civil Designer

Engineer will also support design reviews, respond to RFIs, assist with construction support as needed,



and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and templates. Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders is essential to keep projects on schedule and within scope.

Qualifications

- Strong civil design skills, including experience with subdivision, residential infrastructure, and site layout planning.
- Proficiency with relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar civil design tools).
- Ability to interpret survey plans, soil test reports, and engineering documentation to inform design decisions.
- Knowledge of local Gold Coast / QLD planning schemes, engineering standards, and council requirements for civil works.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and drawings.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Design, or related discipline; eligibility for professional membership is an advantage.
- Experience in residential developments, light gauge steel integration, or similar projects is beneficial.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a busy on-site environment.
