About the Role We are seeking experienced Confined Space Underground / Standby Labourers for an ongoing tunnel renewal project in Burraneer. This position involves working in underground confined space environments, supporting tunnel rehabilitation works, and providing confined space standby duties to ensure worker safety and compliance with site procedures.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, previous civil construction experience, and the ability to work effectively in physically demanding underground conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform confined space work in underground tunnel environments.
- Act as a Confined Space Standby attendant for personnel entering confined spaces.
- Monitor workers and maintain effective communication throughout operations.
- Set up, inspect, and maintain rescue and communication equipment.
- Assist with emergency response and rescue procedures when required.
- Carry out general civil labouring tasks, including concreting activities.
- Operate powered equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with tunnel rehabilitation, maintenance, and renewal works.
- Follow all site safety policies, confined space procedures, and project requirements.

RequirementsEssential
- Minimum 2 years' experience in civil construction or labouring.




- Experience with concreting and concrete remediation works.
- Competent using powered tools and hand tools.
- Current Confined Space Rescue Ticket or willingness to obtain.
- Current Working at Heights Ticket or willingness to obtain.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Physically fit and capable of working in underground environments.
- Reliable work ethic and positive attitude.

Desirable
- Previous underground construction or tunnel experience.
- Experience working on civil infrastructure projects.
- Additional construction-related tickets and qualifications.

Ideal Candidate You are a safety-focused and hands-on civil labourer with at least two years of experience in civil construction, including concreting and the use of powered tools. You are comfortable working in underground and confined space environments and either hold, or are willing to obtain, Confined Space Rescue and Working at Heights certifications. You have a strong commitment to workplace safety, are physically fit, and can work effectively within a team to deliver critical infrastructure projects.
