Our Commercial Litigation team advises businesses, not-for-profits, organisations and individuals across a broad range of disputes and commercial matters, delivering practical, strategic advice tailored to our clients' objectives.
As our firm continues to grow, we are seeking a Commercial Litigation Lawyer (Associate to Principal Lawyer) to join our Melbourne team. We are also open to this role being based remotely from anywhere in Australia, with support from our Melbourne office and travel to Melbourne as required.
About the Role
This opportunity is suited to a commercially minded litigator who enjoys solving complex problems, building strong client relationships and delivering strategic outcomes. We are open to candidates from Associate through to Principal Lawyer level and will tailor the role according to your experience and capability.
You will work across a diverse range of commercial disputes and advisory matters while contributing to the continued growth of a dynamic and respected practice.
Duties
- Manage a broad range of commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters
- Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk management and commercial outcomes
- Draft pleadings, submissions, contracts, correspondence and legal advice
- Conduct negotiations, mediations and court proceedings
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Contribute to business development and practice growth initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm
- Mentor and support junior lawyers where appropriate
Skills & Experience
- Experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution
- Strong technical legal skills and commercial judgement
- Excellent drafting, advocacy and negotiation abilities
- Ability to manage matters autonomously
- Strong client relationship and business development skills
- Strategic and solutions-focused approach
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- Leadership and mentoring experience highly regarded for senior applicants
