About Us

ShineHub is an Australian energy technology company focused on innovative solar, battery storage and energy solutions. We are looking for a motivated and technically capable Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, integration and continuous improvement of renewable energy systems.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who wants to work at the intersection of electrical engineering, solar PV, battery energy storage and smart energy technologies.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer at ShineHub, you will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support across the design, development, testing and delivery of electrical and renewable energy systems.

You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure electrical designs are technically sound, practical, safe and compliant with applicable Australian standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, design and develop electrical power systems and equipment associated with solar photovoltaic (PV), battery energy storage and other renewable energy applications.
- Design and review electrical circuits, single-line diagrams, protection systems, cabling arrangements, switchgear, inverters, transformers and associated electrical equipment.
- Perform detailed electrical engineering calculations, including load assessments, system capacity, cable sizing, voltage drop, protection and fault-level assessments.
- Develop electrical designs, specifications, drawings and technical documentation for the manufacture, installation, commissioning and operation of electrical systems.
- Interpret and apply relevant Australian Standards,

electrical regulations, network requirements and technical specifications to electrical system design and implementation.
- Evaluate and select electrical equipment, components and systems to ensure technical suitability, reliability, safety and compliance with design requirements.
- Design and support the integration of solar generation, battery energy storage systems, inverters, energy management systems and grid-connected electrical equipment.
- Provide engineering supervision and technical support during the installation, testing, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical power systems.
- Inspect and review electrical installations and completed systems to verify compliance with approved designs, specifications, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate electrical system performance issues, faults and technical problems and develop appropriate engineering solutions.
- Liaise with electrical contractors, equipment suppliers, network service providers and other stakeholders regarding engineering design, installation, commissioning and technical requirements.
- Prepare and maintain engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, test results and other technical records.

Skills and Experience

- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant professional engineering experience in electrical power systems, renewable energy, building services, utilities or a related field.
- Experience or strong interest in solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), inverters and distributed energy resources.
- Strong knowledge of electrical system design principles, protection, earthing, cable sizing and voltage-drop calculations.
- Ability to read and develop electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience with engineering/design software such as AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, installers, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- A strong commitment to electrical safety, engineering quality and regulatory compliance.

What We Offer

- The opportunity to work in Australia's rapidly developing renewable energy sector.
- Exposure to solar, battery storage, smart energy and VPP technologies.
- A technically challenging role with opportunities to work across the full project lifecycle.
- A collaborative setting where engineering expertise can directly influence real-world energy solutions.
- Opportunities to develop your technical and professional engineering capabilities.

If you are an Electrical Engineer who is passionate about renewable energy and wants to work on practical energy solutions with real-world impact, we would love to hear from you.
