Our client is a specialist planning and environment law practice in Sydney's CBD. It advises government, individuals and large corporations on a mix of advisory and litigation work.
This is a permanent opportunity for an Environment & Planning Lawyer at 3-5 PAE to join a tight-knit team known for genuinely low staff turnover and a track record of promoting from within.
Salary Range and Features of the role:
- 135,000 - $175,000 with pay tied to performance and kept competitive with the market

About the role
Planning and environment work that spans advice and litigation, including Land and Workplace Court appearances.
- Advise on Environmental Planning and Assessment, contaminated land and Protection of the Environment (Operations) Act matters
- Appear in Land and Environment Court matters and instruct counsel where needed
- Deal with councils, the EPA and other regulatory agencies
- Advise government, individual and corporate clients on their options
- Work closely with the senior team across the practice
What you'll bring
- At least 3 PAE in Environment and Planning Law, with a current Australian practising certificate
- Experience advising on EP&A; Act, contaminated land or POEO Act matters
- Experience in LEC matters, including appearances and instructing counsel
- Experience dealing with councils, the EPA and other regulators
- Good communication skills and a willingness to work in a small team
- Desirable: compulsory acquisition, land tax appeals or heritage advice
