About us

Tefco Piping Systems is a growing, Australian family-owned manufacturer and supplier of poly pipe and fittings. Headquartered in Launceston, we're in a genuine growth phase, and our Altona North depot is a valued part of that.

About the role

We're looking for a safety-focused, reliable MC Truck Driver to join our close-knit Altona North depot team on a full-time, permanent basis. You'll handle the secure, accurate and timely delivery of pipe and fittings across Victoria and interstate.

Most weeks are local or regional. Around three times a month you'll run interstate, including overnight legs through NSW and into regional Queensland, so you'll need to be comfortable being away from home on those occasions.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their equipment, works safely, and represents the business professionally on site. From time to time you'll also lend a hand with yard and dispatch duties, the same way any close team pitches in when it's needed.

Why you’ll want this job

- Full-time, permanent role with an immediate start
- Family-owned, Australian business in a genuine growth phase
- Close-knit depot team
- Mix of local, regional and interstate driving

- Personal fuel allowance
- Hourly rate negotiable, based on skills and experience

- Meal and accommodation allowances

What you’ll be doing

- Operate MC vehicles safely and in line with transport regulations and Chain of Responsibility obligations
- Complete local, regional and interstate deliveries, including overnight runs as required
- Load, restrain, transport and unload long and oversized pipe
- Complete delivery paperwork and electronic systems accurately
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and report issues promptly
- Maintain truck cleanliness and presentation
- Assist with yard and dispatch duties as required

What you'll bring

- Current MC Licence and Forklift Licence (both essential)
- Solid experience in heavy vehicle delivery or freight, ideally with long or oversized loads
- Strong knowledge of load restraint, fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility compliance
- A steady, dependable approach and sound judgement under pressure
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability and customer service
- Comfort with delivery paperwork and mobile apps
- Willingness to complete interstate overnight runs, roughly three times a month
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency without restrictions
- A national police check and medical clearance will be required for this role
