About the role The Floor Staff supports the end-to-end auction process, from receiving and preparing goods through to assisting the auctioneer, processing sales and coordinating collection or delivery of sold items. This is a part-time position working 2-3 days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. Frequent offsite travel is required, and you will need a current driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Work-related mileage will be reimbursed.

Key responsibilities

- Support the end-to-end auction process, including receiving and consigning stock, setting and lotting items, recording sales and assisting the auctioneer.
- Prepare, present and store goods safely and securely to ensure they are ready for auction and protected from damage.
- Assist with the collection or delivery of sold items after confirming payment has been received.
- Provide professional and friendly customer service to vendors, buyers, prospective buyers and visitors.
- Liaise with vendors to ensure items are received in time for upcoming auctions.
- Assist buyers and respond to enquiries as required.




- Open the auction room on time and ensure the premises are locked and secure at the end of the day.
- Remain alert to potential theft or misuse of consigned stock and report concerns promptly.
- Record and report damage, customer complaints, unsafe activities and improvement opportunities.
- Follow all relevant auction, dealer register, onsite sales, Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

About you

- Reliable, skilled and safety-conscious, with a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced auction environment, able to follow procedures accurately and confident communicating with customers, vendors and colleagues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear and legible handwriting.
- Willing to travel frequently to offsite locations.
- Current driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Dependable, practical and able to work as part of a busy team.
