Key Responsibilities

We're looking for experienced, confident and passionate Team Leaders / Section Waiters to join TAYIM, our signature restaurant at the newly reopened Harbour Rocks Hotel in The Rocks.

TAYIM brings bold Levantine flavours, fire-led cooking and generous hospitality to the heart of Sydney. We're looking for restaurant professionals who thrive during a busy dinner service, take ownership and know how to deliver warm, attentive and efficient service without missing a beat.

- Independently manage a restaurant section during busy à la carte lunch and dinner services.




- Deliver polished, engaging and efficient table service, even during high-volume trading periods.
- Confidently manage multiple tables, orders and guest requests while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Demonstrate robust knowledge of the menu, ingredients, wines and beverages, confidently guiding guests through their dining experience.
- Anticipate guest needs, maintain table awareness and ensure a seamless dining experience from arrival to departure.
- Work closely with the kitchen, bar and fellow floor staff to maintain smooth service flow and efficient table turnover.
- Confidently recommend dishes, wines and additional menu items to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue.
- Maintain high standards of restaurant presentation, cleanliness and service readiness.
- Lead fellow team members and contribute to a positive, professional and high-performing restaurant environment.

What you bring

- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a busy, full-service restaurant, ideally as a Section Waiter or Senior Waiter.
- Proven experience independently managing a section during high-volume à la carte dinner service is essential.
- Strong understanding of restaurant service sequences, table management and the demands of a fast-paced dining environment.
- Ability to confidently manage multiple tables and competing priorities while remaining calm, organised and attentive.
- Excellent food and wine knowledge,



with confidence in making recommendations and naturally upselling.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a genuine passion for hospitality.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and support the wider team.
- Experience in premium casual dining, quality restaurants or upscale hotel restaurants will be highly regarded.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, including peak dinner service periods.
- Current NSW RSA certification.
