About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Fruit & Veg Manager to join the Tucker Fresh IGA team on a full-time basis.

As the Fruit & Veg Manager, you will lead the daily operations of one of the store's most important departments, ensuring exceptional presentation, freshness, stock availability and customer service. You will be responsible for driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising, inventory management, team leadership and operational excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced supermarket leader who is passionate about fresh food and enjoys developing high-performing teams while delivering an outstanding shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop your team: Build a positive, accountable team that delivers on our promise that “every local is loved.”

- Own department performance: Drive sales, manage gross profit and control wages, stock levels and operating costs.

- Deliver exceptional fresh produce:



Maintain outstanding quality, freshness, availability, rotation and presentation standards.

- Manage stock and reduce waste: Oversee ordering, replenishment, supplier relationships, stock control and shrinkage to maximise profitability.

- Create a outstanding customer experience: Understand customer needs, respond to feedback and deliver a fresh produce offer that keeps locals coming back.

- Ensure the department operates safely and complies with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

About you

We're looking for a leader who combines strong produce knowledge with the commercial skills to run a successful supermarket department.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Previous experience managing a supermarket Fruit & Veg or fresh produce department.

- Strong knowledge of produce quality, seasonal availability, ordering, stock rotation and merchandising.

- Proven ability to manage sales, gross profit, wages, stock loss and waste.

- Experience leading, coaching and developing a team, including rostering and performance management.

- A hands-on approach, strong organisation and a genuine passion for fresh food and customer service.

- The ability to work under pressure,



prioritise tasks and work both autonomously and as part of a team.

- A current National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.

Experience working within an independent supermarket, particularly IGA, would be highly regarded.
