Selection Criteria

Please explicitly write about each of the 5 statements below in your cover letter, and provide the evidence requested. Applicants who do not answer the questions will not progress to interview.

1. Qualified to teach PDHPE in secondary schools in NSW (Provide evidence of your teaching qualification or of progress towards completion);
2. Experience in playing and/or coaching sport (ideally rugby league or rugby union) either current or in the past (Please specify your interests and skills);
3. Ability to use a range of teaching methods to engage students (give an example of something you have done that demonstrates this);
4. Ability and skills to support students with learning difficulties;
5. Names and contact details of 2 qualified referees.

Position Overview The Core Teacher role is responsible for mentoring students through Years 11 and 12 as well as teaching,



training and assessment in HMS (PDHPE), Business, Work Studies and Sport and Recreation. Each teacher looks after a single class of 20 students over the two years of their HSC course.

We are looking for HMS (PDHPE) trained teachers. You will be given training, paid for by the College, in subjects other than PDHPE if you are not already qualified in those areas.

We are looking for a teacher to work with a class of rugby league and rugby union players - both boys and girls - and to liaise with our sports ambassadors (high profile young players) to deliver an outstanding experience for our students.

Qualifications

MANDATORY: NSW NESA Teaching Registration (may be conditional or provisional) relevant to teaching Stage 6 HMS (PDHPE) - PLEASE indicate what level of NESA registration you hold. If you are an overseas applicant please indicate where you are up to with your NESA accreditation process.

MANDATORY: Working with Children Check - paid employment

MANDATORY: Current Driver's License and car (class teachers need to drive to weekly events)

Desirable Skills (not essential)

Qualifications and/or experience in teaching Fitness and/or Sport, Aquatics and Recreation
