The Role

We are seeking a capable Systems & Network Engineer to take responsibility for the ongoing management, security and reliability of the organisation's core IT infrastructure.

This is a genuinely hands-on position, with a particular focus on Fortinet firewalls, virtualised Windows Server environments within Microsoft Azure, and Veeam backup solutions supporting Microsoft 365.

You will be responsible for maintaining secure and reliable systems, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, improving existing environments and ensuring appropriate security, backup and recovery measures are in place.





The position offers a good balance of day-to-day infrastructure administration, technical problem-solving and longer-term improvements. You will have the opportunity to work across networking, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and Microsoft technologies rather than being limited to one particular area.

An important component of the role is supporting the organisation's international operations. This involves two trips to Papua New Guinea each calendar year, with each visit lasting approximately four weeks. Some travel between locations within PNG will also be required.
