PQE Partners are working with a leading financial services organisation looking to appoint a Financial Markets Lawyer to its Sydney legal team.

This is an chance to join a high-calibre, specialist team supporting a sophisticated and growing financial markets business. The role will provide broad exposure across derivatives, prime and securities financing, working closely with front office and key stakeholders across the organisation.

The work will include

- Drafting and negotiating financial markets documentation, including ISDA Master Agreements, CSAs and other trading and financing agreements
- Advising on contractual, legal and credit risk arising across financial markets transactions
- Working closely with front office, Credit, Risk, Operations and other legal stakeholders
- Supporting documentation across areas such as derivatives, repo, securities lending and prime financing
- Advising on relevant regulatory developments and their impact on documentation and trading activity
- Reviewing and improving templates, playbooks and documentation processes
- Contributing to broader process improvement, technology and automation initiatives within the function





We are looking to speak with qualified lawyers, broadly around the 5–12 PQE level, with relevant financial markets experience gained within a bank, financial institution or leading law firm.

Ideally, you will have hands-on experience with ISDA/CSA documentation and exposure to one or more areas such as derivatives, repo/GMRA, securities lending/GMSLA or prime financing. You do not need to be an expert across every product area.

More important is a strong grounding in financial markets, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, sound commercial judgement and the ability to work effectively with both legal and business stakeholders.
