Irrigation Technician

Hydratec Engineering Pty Ltd – Dalby, QLD Hydratec Engineering is seeking a motivated and reliable Irrigation Technician to join our team based in Dalby, Queensland.

This is a hands-on technical role working within the agricultural sector, specialising in the installation, servicing and maintenance of Valley centre pivot and lateral move irrigation systems across regional and remote Australia.

The position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale irrigation infrastructure while developing specialised skills within a respected and growing industry.

About the Role

As an Irrigation Technician, you will work as part of a small team responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining irrigation systems on agricultural properties. Work is primarily based on farms and rural locations and involves regular travel across Queensland, NSW, Northern Victoria and interstate locations.

Key responsibilities include

- Installation and assembly of Valley centre pivot and lateral move irrigation systems
- Repair and servicing of existing irrigation equipment
- Installation of pumps, mainlines and associated infrastructure
- Working safely and efficiently within a team on rural and remote job sites
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and professionalism

Skills & Experience

While previous irrigation experience is advantageous, it is not essential. Candidates with backgrounds in agriculture, mechanical trades, construction or rural industries are encouraged to apply.



The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Willingness to travel and work away when required
- Ability to work effectively within a small team workplace

Requirements

- Current Driver’s Licence
- MR/MC Truck Licence (highly regarded)
- Experience with power tools and machinery (advantageous)
