Our client, Trevor Mick Pty Ltd, trading as Dimension Gardenscape, is a premier landscape design, construction, and garden maintenance specialist operating across the Capital region and southern New South Wales. Based in Karabar, NSW, the business delivers complete outdoor transformations for high-end residential and commercial clients, specializing in bespoke hardscaping, architectural softscaping, turf establishment, timber features, and ongoing grounds care. They are now seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Landscape Gardener to join their field operations team in Karabar, NSW. Reporting to the site supervisor and management, the role involves taking end-to-end ownership of landscape construction, softscape installation, tree and plant care, hardscape building, and ongoing garden maintenance. It calls for strong practical expertise, physical fitness, meticulous attention to detail, and confident communication on active job sites.

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary within the range of $75,000 to $85,000 AUD per annum, plus superannuation, benchmarked against market salary rates and commensurate with the technical skill, experience, and operational accountability required for the role.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

- Interpreting landscape plans, construction drawings, and job specifications to select suitable materials, plant species, and establish efficient project execution schedules across residential and commercial sites.
- Executing comprehensive site preparation and soil cultivation, establishing optimal seedbeds, spreading topsoil, and preparing planting zones for new softscape installations.
- Selecting, propagating, and planting trees, shrubs, hedges, flowers, and bulbs tailored to regional climate conditions, soil types, and client aesthetic preferences.
- Preparing lawn bases through grading and topsoil distribution, laying instant turf rolls, and sowing specialized grass seed to establish healthy, durable lawn areas.
- Setting out and installing hardscape structures, including paving, gravel areas, retaining walls, garden edging, timber pergolas, fences, and ornamental water features.




- Delivering systematic garden and turf maintenance, including precision mowing, hedging, weeding, deep watering, and applying specialized soil fertilisation treatments.
- Pruning trees, hedges, and shrubs using appropriate arboricultural techniques, and installing plant support structures, stakes, and protective devices.
- Inspecting plants, trees, and turf to assess health conditions, diagnosing pest infestations, nutrient deficiencies, or fungal diseases, and determining corrective treatments.
- Safely operating chainsaws, pole saws, and hand tools to lop overgrown branches, shape tree canopies, and remove dead or hazardous timber from job sites.
- Mixing and applying chemical sprays and pest controls (insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides) in strict accordance with environmental regulations and chemical handling guidelines.
- Operating commercial landscaping equipment and machinery safely while maintaining a clean, organized work site and enforcing strict Work Health and Safety (WHS) protocols at all times.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD:

- Hold a relevant qualification — AQF Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Certificate III in Horticulture, or an equivalent qualification (or overseas equivalent).
- Have at least 2 to 3 years of relevant professional work experience as a Landscape Gardener or Tradesperson in landscape construction and garden maintenance.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both hardscaping (paving, retaining walls, structural timber) and softscaping (soil prep, turfing, planting, tree pruning).
- Sound knowledge of plant species, turf establishment, soil science, pest management, and chemical spraying standards.
- Hands-on experience in safely operating commercial landscaping machinery, power tools, and specialized arboricultural equipment.
- Hold a valid Australian Driver Licence and White Card (General Construction Induction).
- Strong organizational, problem-solving,



and communication skills with high attention to finish quality.
- Willingness to work on-site across Karabar, Queanbeyan, and the broader region.
- Must hold valid Australian work rights at the time of application.
