You'll have significant autonomy to influence how the technology function is structured, how software is delivered, and how modern engineering practices are embedded across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the technical direction and engineering strategy
- Remain hands-on with software development and architecture decisions
- Establish scalable engineering processes, standards and best practices
- Drive platform modernisation, stability and performance improvements
- Introduce and embed AI-enabled engineering processes and efficiencies
- Mentor, coach and develop engineers
- Assess the current team structure and implement improvements where required
- Build a high-performing engineering culture focused on quality and delivery




- Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology initiatives with business objectives
- Ensure solutions are scalable and secure

You'll likely bring:
- Experience leading engineering teams within a startup, scale-up or high-growth SaaS environment
- Technical experience in the following (or similar): React, Flutter, Node.js, AWS and Firebase
- Strong full-stack development capability and a willingness to stay hands-on
- Experience scaling systems, teams and engineering functions
- A track record of implementing effective development processes and technical standards
- Experience improving engineering quality, delivery velocity and operational maturity
- Confidence challenging existing approaches and driving meaningful change
- Strong commercial awareness and product-minded thinking

Highly Regarded
- AI engineering or AI implementation experience
- UX/UI awareness and customer-centric thinking
- Experience leading distributed or offshore teams
