Maintenance Fitter – Food Manufacturing

Preston, Melbourne | Day Shift | $50–$58/hr Depending on Experience A growing food manufacturing business in Preston is looking for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join its engineering team. With significant investment and expansion planned, this is a great opportunity to secure a long-term role with a business focused on improving its maintenance function.

We’re looking for a systems-oriented fitter with a food, FMCG or pharmaceutical manufacturing background, strong GMP knowledge and experience using maintenance systems such as SAP or MEX.

The Role

- Preventative and breakdown maintenance across production and packaging equipment
- Mechanical fault finding, repairs and troubleshooting
- Scheduled preventative maintenance, including Saturday opportunities
- Supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement
- Recording maintenance activities using SAP, MEX or similar CMMS
- Maintaining high GMP, food safety and WHS standards

About You





- Trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter
- Strong mechanical breakdown and preventative maintenance experience
- Background in food, FMCG or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Positive understanding of GMP practices
- Experience with SAP, MEX or similar maintenance systems
- Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and organisational skills
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience advantageous
- Proactive, reliable and safety-focused
