Your opportunity
Build new pathways. Create connections. Shape the future of international student recruitment.
Southern Cross University is looking for a proactive and commercially minded relationship builder to grow our international student recruitment pipeline across Australia and Oceania.
Reporting to the Director, Global Marketing and Recruitment, you'll lead regional recruitment strategy, develop student acquisition channels and establish partnerships with schools, TAFE and VET providers, higher education institutions and pathway partners. You'll also oversee recruitment targets, budgets, marketing activity and partnership performance to drive sustainable enrolment growth.
This is an influential, hands-on business development role for someone who can turn market intelligence and relationships into recruitment outcomes. Working closely with Recruitment, Admissions, Marketing and Faculty teams, you'll identify opportunities, strengthen our presence in key markets and build partnerships that support long-term growth.
If you're energised by meeting people, spotting opportunities and building something new, this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on the University's international growth.
You will make an impact by:
- Building recruitment pathways through schools, TAFE, VET and university partners
- Developing relationships that grow direct student applications and enrolments
- Identifying new markets, partnerships and opportunities for student growth
- Working with internal stakeholders to shape recruitment strategies and pathways
- Managing recruitment targets, budgets and partnership performance
What You Will Bring You'll be a natural relationship builder who enjoys connecting with people, opening doors and turning conversations into opportunities. Confident engaging with stakeholders across education and industry, you'll build relationships that deliver mutual value. You may come from student recruitment, education, marketing, sales, business development or another relationship-driven environment. International education experience is valuable but not essential. What matters most is your ability to understand audiences, identify opportunities and develop creative approaches to achieving results.
Proactive, curious and commercially minded, you'll bring fresh thinking and the initiative to turn ideas into outcomes. Working with the strategic guidance of the Director, Global Marketing and Recruitment, you'll have considerable autonomy to develop partnerships and progress initiatives while collaborating across teams and aligning with University priorities. You'll also be comfortable with regular travel, face-to-face engagement and occasional out-of-hours commitments.
To succeed in this role, you will also need:
- Robust relationship management, networking and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in marketing, sales, recruitment, business development or education
- The ability to identify opportunities and develop strategies that deliver results
- Commercial awareness, negotiation skills and a focus on achieving targets
- A collaborative, adaptable approach and willingness to travel across Australia and Oceania
