Marketing & Social Media Coordinator
Full-time or Part-time | $75,000 Super (full-time equivalent, pro rata for part time) | Reporting to Owner & General Manager
About Comma
This is Fed Square's next chapter. Time Out is transforming into Comma — a warm, all-day eatery and bar shaped by Melbourne's coffee culture and the city's own restless energy.
Comma is designed to move with the day: mornings built for long conversations and specialty coffee, lunches full of share plates and sunshine, and nights that shift into cocktails, wine and the kind of buzz that makes Fed Square the place everyone ends up. Confident, never intimidating. Genuinely enjoyable, always.
We're opening the doors on something new, and we need someone who can build its voice from the ground up.
The Role
We're looking for an energetic, hands-on Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to bring Comma to life online and in the room. You'll work directly with the Owner and General Manager to shape how Melbourne discovers, follows and falls for this venue — from the first Instagram post to the buzz of a Friday night service.
This is a genuinely varied, fast-paced role at the ground floor of a brand launch. No two days will look the same.
What You'll Be Doing
● Owning Comma's social media presence — content planning, posting, community management and growing an engaged local following
● Shooting and editing photo and video content on the floor, in the kitchen and behind the bar
● Supporting design of menus, signage, promotional material and social assets in line with Comma's brand guidelines
● Working closely with the Owner and GM to plan campaigns, events and seasonal pushes
● Assisting with instore events and loyalty programs
● Keeping a finger on the pulse of what's happening in hospitality and culture across the city
● Staying hands-on — this role sits in the venue throughout the week, as well as working from home
What You'll Bring
● A genuine passion for hospitality, food and drink culture
● Experience in a marketing, social media or brand role — hospitality experience highly regarded
● Confidence with a camera — photography and videography skills, and an eye for what makes content stop the scroll
● Some graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe Suite or similar)
● Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a busy team
● Excellent organisation — you can juggle a content calendar, a campaign brief and a last-minute event brief at once
● A hands-on, get-it-done attitude and genuine energy for building something new
Pay: $47,500.00 – $75,000.00 per year
Benefits
- Work from home
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Melbourne VIC 3000
