Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and patient-focused Oral Health Therapist to join our growing team, initially for 2–3 days per week, with the chance to develop into a full-time role as the practice continues to grow.

Previous experience in an Australian private practice is preferred, although we welcome applications from clinicians who demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to patient care.

The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering preventive and periodontal care, providing oral health education, and treating patients of different ages. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their clinical work, builds strong relationships with patients and enjoys working collaboratively within a supportive dental team.

Key Responsibilities

- Preventive & Periodontal Care: Provide high-quality preventive and periodontal treatment, including comprehensive cleans, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing where indicated, and personalised oral hygiene instruction.
- Children’s Dentistry: Deliver age-appropriate oral health assessments, preventive care, fissure sealants and other treatments within your scope of practice and clinical competence.
- Patient Education: Educate patients about their oral health, periodontal conditions and preventive strategies, helping them make informed decisions and maintain long-term oral health.
- Patient Relationships & Retention: Build rapport with patients, encourage regular attendance and contribute to a positive, long-term patient experience.
- Thorough Clinical Records: Maintain accurate clinical notes, periodontal charting, treatment plans and digital records in accordance with professional standards.
- Digital Workflows: Utilise our modern clinical technology, including an intraoral scanner, CBCT scanner and Airflow, where appropriate to your role and scope of practice.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with our dentists and wider team to coordinate patient care,

identify treatment needs and ensure a smooth clinical workflow.
- Practice Growth: Contribute to the continued growth of the practice by delivering excellent patient care, supporting recall programs and helping build a consistent clinical appointment book.

Qualifications & Skills
- AHPRA Registration: Current registration with the Dental Board of Australia as an Oral Health Therapist.
- Recognised Qualifications: A recognised qualification in oral health therapy, with the appropriate scope of practice for the position.
- Private Practice Experience: Experience in an Australian private practice environment is preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.
- Clinical Skills: Competence in preventive dentistry, periodontal therapy and oral health education within your registered scope of practice.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain oral health conditions and treatment recommendations clearly and compassionately.
- Patient-Focused Approach: A gentle, empathetic manner and a commitment to providing a comfortable experience for patients, including children and anxious patients.
- Attention to Detail: Strong clinical documentation, organisation and attention to detail.
- Professional Indemnity: Appropriate professional indemnity insurance.

What We Offer
- Modern Technology: Access to advanced clinical equipment, including a CBCT scanner, intraoral scanner and Airflow.
- Clinical Autonomy: The opportunity to manage your patients independently within your scope of practice, supported by a collaborative team.
- Mentoring & Development: Clinical guidance and mentoring available as required, with opportunities to continue developing your skills.
- Supportive Team: A positive, professional and friendly workplace where teamwork and patient care come first.
- Flexible Rostering: Negotiable working days, with weekday and weekend options to suit your availability.
- Growth Opportunities: The opportunity to increase your days and develop a full-time caseload as the practice grows.
- Established Patient Base: An opportunity to build your clinical book within a growing independent dental practice.
