Fraser Lever is a multidisciplinary engineering company serving the resources and industrial sectors in Australia and overseas. Our Brisbane and Townsville teams work on mine and industrial infrastructure, mineral processing plants, materials handling and mechanical equipment, bringing practical engineering judgement to complex operating environments.

The opportunity

This is a technical leadership role for an experienced structural engineer who can establish sound design approaches, challenge assumptions and give clients confidence in engineering decisions. Based in Yeerongpilly, you will work with discipline leads and company leadership to strengthen technical assurance, develop capability and support project delivery.

Key responsibilities

- Provide structural technical direction from concept and existing-plant assessment through detailed design and construction support.

- Review and approve calculations, models, drawings and reports within your competence and agreed authority, documenting assumptions, checks and deviations.

- Guide designs, site inspections and rehabilitation recommendations for industrial structures, plant supports, equipment structures and mine infrastructure.

- Maintain practical discipline methods, specifications and review tools; integrate Safety in Design and coordinate mechanical and other discipline interfaces.

- Mentor engineers, resolve complex technical queries and support scopes,



engineering estimates, schedules and client discussions.

What you’ll bring

- A bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia, or an equivalent engineering qualification.

- RPEQ registration in the relevant area of practice. Chartered status is highly regarded.

- Substantial capability in resources or industrial structural design, condition assessment and rehabilitation, including brownfield upgrades and existing-plant constraints.

- Sound first-principles judgement, knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and practical proficiency in SpaceGASS, Strand7 or equivalent structural analysis tools.

- The ability to lead independent technical reviews, mentor engineers and communicate clear, commercially practical advice to clients and contractors.
