Product Specialist - Power (generators and engines)

The Opportunity The company is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Product Specialist - Power to join its team. This is a critical product leadership role responsible for the ownership, accuracy, compliance and strategic direction of the company’s power generation product portfolio.

The successful candidate will become the internal authority on product application, configuration and capability, ensuring that products quoted, ordered and supplied are accurate, compliant and commercially sound. Working across sales, engineering, supply chain, service and supplier networks, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping product strategy, driving continuous improvement and building technical capability across the business. Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Technical Expertise





- Act as the internal subject matter expert for the power product range, including application, configuration and lifecycle management.
- Maintain accurate, current product specifications, item data and technical information for customers and internal teams.
- Assess product suitability against customer applications and operational requirements.

Product Strategy & Development

- Identify and evaluate recent products and emerging technologies for commercial viability and market suitability.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments.
- Recommend portfolio improvements, rationalisation and future product direction.

Compliance & Quality

- Ensure products and documentation meet relevant Australian Standards and customer requirements.
- Monitor recurring product issues and work with suppliers to deliver effective resolutions and quality improvements.

Supplier & Product Management

- Manage relationships with suppliers, manufacturers and technical representatives, including FG Wilson.
- Administer supplier systems and coordinate product-related warranty, sourcing and commercial activities.

Capability Development

- Deliver product training and technical support to sales, engineering and service teams.




- Maintain product knowledge resources and act as an escalation point for complex enquiries.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

- Report on product performance, issues and development initiatives while maintaining accurate business records.
- Identify and contribute to process, product support and operational improvements.

Candidate Requirements

- Significant experience in power generation products, electrical, industrial equipment or a related industry.
- Demonstrated ownership of product configuration, specifications, data and lifecycle management.
- Strong technical aptitude and commercial awareness, including costs, margins and risk.
- Highly organised communicator with experience using supplier systems and developing technical documentation or training materials.
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical or Production Management or Electrical trade qualification.
- Knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to power generation equipment.
- Exposure to mining, construction, infrastructure or industrial markets.
