About the Role:

We are seeking a Social Worker for a temporary contract placement supporting a new Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit in Rockhampton, QLD. This is an ASAP start running through to 17 February 2027 (noting the contract may conclude earlier pending successful permanent recruitment). Working Monday to Friday days with no on-call requirements, you will provide social work services within a newly established inpatient mental health setting, supporting consumers and families through assessment, intervention and discharge planning as part of a multidisciplinary team. This role is well suited to an early career qualified with 2 to 5 years of practice experience.

- Provide social work assessment and intervention within an adult mental health inpatient unit
- Support consumers and families through admission, care planning and discharge processes
- Contribute psychosocial assessments and formulation to the multidisciplinary team
- Liaise with community mental health services, families, carers and external agencies
- Support safe and coordinated transitions of care back into the community
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Benefits:

- $65 - $80 per hour + superannuation
- ASAP start, contract through to 17 February 2027
- Monday to Friday days only, no on-call

About You:

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work
- Eligibility for membership with the AASW
- 2 to 5 years of practice experience (early career professionals encouraged to apply)
- Experience in mental health, inpatient or acute settings (highly regarded)
- Strong psychosocial assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Current driver's licence (essential)
- Eligible to work in Australia
