About the Company
MAYDAY Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and highly regarded strata insurer seeking an experienced Senior Property Claims Consultant to join their VIC Claims team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong claims professional who can confidently manage complex property claims, provide expert guidance and deliver quality outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

You'll take ownership of a portfolio of property and strata claims, drawing on your technical expertise and sound judgement to navigate complex matters from initial assessment through to resolution. You'll also play an important role in mentoring junior team members, sharing knowledge and contributing to a collaborative team environment.

This is a fully office-based role, working 5 days per week from conveniently located Melbourne offices close to public transport. You'll join an experienced and supportive team where your expertise will be valued, with opportunities to continue developing your specialist knowledge within the strata insurance sector.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing end-to-end property and strata claims, including complex and high-value matters
- Assessing policy coverage, liability and claim circumstances to determine appropriate outcomes
- Managing complex water damage, escape of liquid, burst pipe and other property-related claims
- Coordinating investigations, building assessments, repairs and restoration works
- Negotiating settlements and making sound, commercially minded claims decisions
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, insureds, assessors, builders and repairers




- Identifying and resolving escalated or challenging claims matters
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
- Supporting team knowledge-sharing and contributing to continuous improvement across claims processes

What we're looking for:

- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end property claims, including complex claims
- Strong technical knowledge of property damage, escape of liquid, burst pipe and water damage claims
- Previous experience in strata or body corporate insurance, highly regarded
- The ability to assess coverage, interpret policy wording and make sound claims decisions
- Experience coordinating builders, assessors, repairers and other external specialists
- Strong negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
- The confidence to manage a busy portfolio independently and resolve escalated matters
- Experience using claims management systems and Microsoft Excel
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to share knowledge and support colleagues
